5/18 UPDATE: TSSAA charges admission and parking fees to spectators at the State Championship. Admission to all spectators is $15. If you buy a ticket early at Gofan you can get yours for $12 (https://gofan.co/tssaa). Parking is $5 for an all-day pass. Last year all the matches were indoors and there was limited seating, so if you’re coming you may wish to bring your camp chair.

The first round begins at 9:00 AM. We will need to be on-site early to register.

I will be leaving the high school at 6:30AM. Sophia and Mack, you are welcome to ride with me and Coach Brown. I’m probably going to take 109 through Gallatin to Murfreesboro in order to avoid the interstate.

There are 3 rounds to the state tournament. We will face the girls from Watertown, 2 juniors Nix and Thomas, in Round One (QF) at 9:00. After we win that round we will face the winner of the other QF between Watertown and Univ. School—we’ll get a look at the Summertown girls in our match today :) —at 2PM. And after we beat down Summertown or Univ. School, we will be in the FINAL MATCH of the State Individual Doubles Tournament on Friday 5/26 at 9AM. That means that today, right now, we are 3 short matches from the TITLE.

Ladies, you have beaten every opponent you have faced this season, avenging your only loss yesterday to win the Region 6 Championship. You can play with anyone. There is no reason to be nervous or afraid. Doubles is simple: serves in, returns cross-court, volleys firm, victory. You can do it!
